Omaezaki, Japan

 Sea Date March 3, 2024

The gale force winds were ablowing  off the peninsula around Omaezaki. It was not possible for us to dock in those conditions. so the Captain spent many hours cruising around the small Bay of Suruga hoping we would catch Mt. Fuji out of the clouds.  The morning was quite cloudy. Jim and I went out on the deck around 10 am just to enjoy some fresh air.  Jim said, I think that is Mt Fuji peaking through the clouds.  I thought he was being funny.  I thought we were looking at a white cloud above the grey ones.  But as we stood there, the clouds slowly cleared and we had a magnificent view of Mt Fuji. We were supposed to have a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji with a lake and blooming trees in the foreground.  A sake brewery was part of the plan for the day.  Ah well.  Thanks to the Captain for our wonderful views.

I found the lectures interesting - not so much Arlene and Karen.
