Today we headed out to Himeji to visit the famous castle. Its nickname is The White Heron. It is stunning and it is one of Japan's 12 original castles (never destroyed over the centuries). It was started in the 1400s and completed in early 1600. Himeji Castle
Followed by a walk around Kokoen gardens and a tea ceremony,
Then downtown Kobe for some street food - Kobe beef on a stick and shopping in street stalls and an 8 story stunning department store reminiscent of 1950s shopping on Howard and Lexington Street at Hutzler's, Hecht's, Hoschild-Kohn, and Stewart's.
Kobe hosted a musical sail away party. Goodbye to this lovely area. The reddest sunset, I believe, I have ever seen. Kenny Martyn, clarinet show this evening.
No idea why pictures are in reverse order.
